Ep 44. "Sounding" Part 1 (An Interview with Ely Wick)
Sunday Jul 12, 2020
Sunday Jul 12, 2020
Excited to get back to work and start making contact again, Rico and I made the journey to Harper's Ferry to meet with the wonderful, Ely Wick, at her cabin in the woods.
Ely was kind enough to let us bombard her whole day and stay well into the evening. We laughed, ate, shared and got to reminisce about days gone by. As a tattoo artist of 16 years, Ely has many a story to tell.
We gained so much perspective from Ely and had so much fun! Ely currently works at Idle Hands Tattoo Emporium in Glen Burnie, MD. You can find her at www.elywick.com. As well as items at: http://www.teepublic.com/user/elywick Her IG is: @elywick
I hope this 3 part series will convey the magic of this day spent learning more about a fellow tattoo artist and friend. Thank you endlessly Ely!
Special thanks to Chuck Nunn (Audio Wizard) for helping us remaster our Intro and Exit tracks. We certainly loved the original but didn't feel classy enough for it just yet. We're a bit more "Raw" than "Refined". Chuck helped to embody a more playful tone with his Jamuary 10 (list of Jamuary's found here at: Soundcloud.com/chuck-nunn )
Thank you so very much my friend!
In recognition of the 'OG' theme music, thank you Brandon Carter at (Brandon Scott Carter Publishing). The name of the original track is "Ink Apprentice". If you liked our original music, and want to work with Brandon, you can email him at: (brandon.carter@outlook.com) Great human! ;)

Ep 43. "Raspberry Jelly" ("Ramble Jam" with your Hosts.)
Tuesday Jun 30, 2020
Tuesday Jun 30, 2020
We got up and said, "Hey, let's just talk at ya and fill this spot with our morning coffee banter."
Rico and Amy share thoughts and personal perspectives.
The hope is that this will be foundational work. Each time we run low on interviews (due to many reasons, but still overly disappointing) we take the opportunity to stretch our podcasting muscles and just impromptu talk.
Not every work is a masterpiece. Sometimes, it's just practice. ;)
Thanks for tuning into our podcast and meeting us both. You honor us! Please say hello. Offer an interview (we'd love to hear your story!!!). Send thoughts. You know we're gonna chat at ya no matter what so why not get involved?

Ep 42. "Good Sleeps" (Rico and Amy share their week)
Wednesday Jun 24, 2020
Wednesday Jun 24, 2020
Rico's been promoted but he just found out. Lol!!! Amy shares some newbie business owner frustrations; Nothing too crazy but worth a perspective.
Let it be known that all was figured out; Amy got her ink issue handled and all parties seem to have reached a rapport.
Thank you continually! We hope you're enjoying the banter. We're having fun talking at ya! :)

Ep 41. "Method to the Madness" (Fishing and Client Vetting)
Sunday Jun 14, 2020
Sunday Jun 14, 2020
In this episode Rico and Amy share what's been going on and some solid tips; Learn fish recipes and hear how to 'fish' your clientele.
Very fun interacting with our audience. We hope to do that more. Please share your fish recipes! :)
Growing slow is important; just as patience is an attribute of fishing, it is of good communication. It's important to learn our community and to help in any way we can.
Ultimately, Interviews will commence; A fishing day will have to be sacrificed to the tattoo gods!
Thank you listeners... You make us what we are.

Ep 40. "Be a Fisherman, not a Wisherman!" (A mental health ramble jam)
Tuesday Jun 09, 2020
Tuesday Jun 09, 2020
Short and sweet this week. We didn't find an interview for this week, but we did do things...
Hear about some of the things that your hosts have been up to! Rico and his family are big time fisherman and they've been sharing their secrets with Amy (She's been adopted to the fisherman family).
In hair the phrase is, "I'm a Beautician, not a Magician," in fishing it's, "Be a Fisherman, not a Wisherman!"
~Gone Fishing~

Ep 39. "I've Been Everywhere Man" Part 2 (An Interview with Jeff Bult)
Sunday May 31, 2020
Sunday May 31, 2020
All the places he's been... Hear more stories from my friend Jeff Bult; Artist at Bloodmoon Collective, right outside of Albany, NY!
You certainly have seen a lot Jeff! Jeff recommends you don't figure things out the hard way all the time... It's not a fun way to learn.
We all are looking forward to when we will find a more consistent landscape in life; Peace is sometimes lacking in consistency and needed then to be found in many tiny moments. Thank you Jeff! Looking forward to seeing you in the future.

Ep 38. "I've Been Everywhere Man" Part 1 (An Interview with Jeff Belt)
Tuesday May 26, 2020
Tuesday May 26, 2020
So great catching up with an old friend. Jeff Bult, of Bloodmoon Collective, in East Greenbush, NY, met with us this past week and shared some crazy tales in apprenticeship land. We decided that a place named 'Curlys', owned by a bald guy, might have been a good read on the kind of education one could expect inside (in hindsight).
Jeff is a fun, kind human who I (Amy) met on an artist retreat. He's always willing to grow, travel, learn and quite obviously, loves tattooing and it's connection to art. Glad to have him on the show and to see where life has taken him to this point. From what we can tell... onward and upward!
Thank you Jeff!

Ep 37. "Mysterious Ways" (Rico and Amy share a moment)
Sunday May 17, 2020
Sunday May 17, 2020
Rico takes the lead on this one as it was his birthday! Amy is perpetually emotional but calming her butt down day by day (Rico with the assist).
Forgive the personal platforming. It's our hopes that you will get to know us (your hosts) and find a connection. Later, once you know who we are, you'll have more fun listening to our conversations.
If you already know us, this episode will cue you into where we find ourselves on this May, the 5th (Cinco de Mayo); catch up with friends.
Thank you to all our listeners! Thanks to Chuck for the extra awesome audio skills!

Ep 36. "Line's Drawn" (Amy Nicholls gets personal)
Sunday May 10, 2020
Sunday May 10, 2020
In this episode, Rico was off being 'essential', while Amy took the opportunity to share a very personal story.
I (Amy) had a lot to share. (What's new... Right?)
This episode shares some information about one of your hosts that is needed before you give anymore support for this podcast. This is a confessional-type podcast, where your host shares a very personal story about who she is, and what motivates the human, she finds herself being today. As Amy's mother used to always say, "There's no holes in these palms!"
Some corrections for the record: Amy misspoke about a few things: 1. She said that she didn't mess up her life more after this moment in history; That was wrong! She definitely messed up her life a lot more, in many ways, that taxed many humans, along her journey. 2. That her aunt died of kidney failure; It was liver failure!
The craziest people are those who don't think they're crazy... Some really crazy times are shared here.
Remember: We all are born with wings that can fly... what you do with your wings is entirely up to you. However, whether it's made of gold or hard, cold, steel, a cage is still a cage!... Even if the bars are invisible... it's still a cage!

The Mission:
This podcast is about learning journeys. We (Amy and Rico) interview people who have braved the unknown; People who can offer, through their story/stories, communion and coping, for those who dare to pursue passion.
